Upgrade methods for Top Platinum?

I'm a UA 1k, mostly for making EWR-TLV plenty. I was offered a match for Top Platinum in ElAl. In the description on the Elal website it says there are "two guaranteed upgrade vouchers per year".

On the UA website you get find all the information in the world how how vouchers actually operate (and quickly you understand that upgrading on the TLV-EWR is very difficult). Does anyone have any idea what are those "two guaranteed upgrades" el al is offering?

Any more information on typical amount of points they require for upgrades - and more importantly is it a wait list or immediate confirmation, would be very much appreciated!

Another consideration is what you will be upgrading to - LY C hard product is not competitive with UA except in the new 787, of which there is only 1 at the moment...

upgrade vouchers

I was never a TPL and will probably never be.

AFAIK the upgrade vouchers are similar to upgrading with points (not last minute).
You need to have an economy ticket booked in full fare (Y,S,M). There needs to be availability in business class upgrade booking class. (I'm not sure if it's R or X)

Then you can call to use the voucher.
I've seen a few TPL's try and sell the voucher online so maybe it's not always useful. Not many people buy full fare economy tickets.

2 already and today they both operated the EWR route, each one in the other direction...
