According to an article in Israel Hayom over Shabbat, a new terminal is on its way to stand alongside T3.

I was there this afternoon. Despite the official "opening ceremony" the concourse is not yet open. After about 20m it is boarded up.

Sounds like the soon-to-come opening of the fast train line to Jerusalem

Not sure the last time you were there but I used to take "Kinley" Soda as well - wasn't in the lounge last time I went through.

Is this official or an assumption? Seriously, although I find it hard to believe that it will be different.

Its so disappointing that Dan runs all the (crappy) lounges at TLV, bar the KDL. If anywhere would be a good location for a Star Alliance lounge, this has to be it. Does Dan have an overly cozy relationship with the IAA or something?

With all the Star Alliance flights out of TLV, I'd think that even one Star Alliance airline could open a lounge and it'd be a profit center. I checked a random date in March, and counted 30 Star Alliance departures (UAx3, ACx1, ETx2, LXx2, OSx2, LHx6, TKx9, A3x3, LOx1, and SNx1). In the summer, there's easily an additional five or so flights.

SkyTeam also have around the same amount of daily flights, and I'm sure OW are not far behind

really? They certainly have almost nothing in terms of longhaul to North America (1-2 DL flights, vs the 3 UA+1-2AC), and prior to the LCC invasion, TK has the most lift by a big margin.

I've been saying for a while that star should really build a lounge.

Looking at the next 24 hours at TLV airport website I could count:
7x SU
4x AZ
3x AF
2x RO
1x UX
1x OK
1x DL
1x KL

I think UX is twice daily on some of the days, as well as the 4-weekly KE and I might have missed something

Forget about unimportant things like lounges and get to the crucial question: Is there a smoking room in E?

I don't care that it's boarded! I want a Star Alliance lounge!
