Yup, and if only LY had gone 2-4-2 the way Boeing intended (and virtually no airline followed up on)

The cell phone reception issues on the Dreamliner aren't going to sit very well with Israelis

There are no such issues on the ground, and it is irrelevant when airborne.
There are issues with GPS reception, but that only applies to a handful of weirdos as me , and event for that there is a solution.

I'm glad they are ordering. I am waiting to actually fly one BEFORE it is considered an "old model"

It's not on top of the 16 commitments from 2015. They are just firming the commitments they made .
So now they have directly ordered 6 , 7 leased and 3 more commitments .

Not in mu case. Only GPS reception vanishes once the doors are closed.

I read an article recently that the -8 is something Boeing is trying to get rid of/not sell vs. the -9 and -10. Wonder if they got a discount as a result.

The sooner they get these birds the better. LY with a complete renewed fleet with a real business class and a reasonable dispatch reliability would be a huge improvement.

As for the -8's, I don't think Boeing WANTS to sell them, they make much more money from the 9 and they are assembled on the same line, so they're not idling anything. I don't know if Boeing still has the early build ones that they're trying to get rid of that's a different story.

Congrats on 10k posts Entropy.

Good for LY. It appears much like AC and UA the 787 is going to become the backbone of LY's long haul fleet. Hopefully BOS gets some action soon...

So far 13 firm (as noted above that includes 7 that are being leased) , with the 3 from Paris . There are 3 more commitments from 2015 that need to be made into firm orders. They will be.
