Actually, according to FlightAware, 4X-ELD operated as ELY11 on June 13 and the flight did go around; it descended to as low as 425' and then climbed back up to 5,100 before landing.

Seems like a couple of bad delays today. LY1 took off 7 hrs late to JFK yesterday, causing the return to be 2.5hrs late on LY4. Because of that LY81 has only just taken off as LY1081 and is also running around 6hrs delayed. LY96 also seems to have had some issues coming out of PEK, 8hr delay on takeoff for some reason

It's been a great week for LY with passengers stuck all over the place...

So a quick summary of the past week or so...

20/10: A 787 stuck in JFK due to some incident during loading meant the flight was cancelled and hundreds of passengers were stuck in NY for Chag.

https://www.israelhayom.co.il/article/700183

25/10: 737 stuck in GVA after the inbound flight had to divert to Lyon due to the inexperienced pilot not being certified to land in the foggy condition which existed at GVA at the time.

Passengers on the return flight which was due to land in TLV on Friday afternoon, were stuck in Geneva for Shabbat.

27/10: A 777 stuck in BOS after the aircraft went tech. Passengers had already been on board for a number of hours before they were offloaded once the crew realised they wouldn't make it to TLV before Shabbat. Passengers were stuck in Boston until after Shabbat.

Can you imagine ~1000 "Tibi Law" claims in one week? This must be painful.

I see LY pulling the wool over everyone's eyes, claiming it to be "extraordinary circumstance" that 3 flights had controllable issues in the same week.

Here another one: while waiting to board LY332 in BRU - the gate agent was looking for volunteers to get off the flight for 400EUR. No one took it. The flight was delayed for 45 minutes (a/c just waiting on the ground). Bottom line? an airline employee took the jump seat. The entire delay because of the airline emlpoyee. Meanwhile, the SN flight that was scheduled to depart later - took off.

LY2523 (Sund'Or operated 738 4X-EKR) ) turned around over Turkey yesterday afternoon due to a mechanical issue (I believe landing gear) and returned to TLV. Passengers remained onboard while problem was fixed and plane took off again.

I was on this flight...
Cause was actually the lack of a precision landing system (presumably cat 2) as the landing was below 350m in fog. The plane was fixed in less than half an hour and then we were on our way again within the hour....
Makes you wonder whose great idea it was to take off for Prague in the first place on a foggy night without the precision Ils functional

2 incidents today:

LY375 TLV-LIS operated by a 739 (4X-EHI) returned to TLV about an hour after take off due to a pressurisation issue. Plane circled over the sea for quite a while, presumably dumping fuel.

Second incident was on a LY2373 TLV-SXF also operates by a 739 (4X-EHA) when a passenger thought it would be a good idea to smoke in the toilet, and then go wild when told off.
Plane was diverted to ATH, where the passenger was removed, and the flight later continues to Berlin.

Never a dull moment...
