  • You actually did claim that the A380 would be more expensive. I said that the list price of the 77W is higher than the discounted price of the A380, and you argued with me, indicating you believe the A380 to actually be more expensive (which contradicted your earlier assertion)

I made my comment based on your typo. Rather than argue semantics, which is completely unproductive, let's try to stay focused on substantive issues; namely should EL AL get the A380 and under what circumstances.

This is one of the strangest things I've ever read. You claim to know what Airbus would love nothing more than, yet when confronted, you say that the criticism can't be real unless said person is an insider. Are you an Airbus insider? If so, I question why Airbus so desires the A380 in LY livery over anything else, such as getting more orders for the A380, getting any US airlines interested in the A380, etc. etc.

Rather than argue semantics, why not just read the article I posted the link for in my previous response. To make it easier for you so that you do not need to scroll up, I will repost the link here: http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/...52612947594688

LY isn't buying the A380 today. By the time they would even consider such a thing - even with your logic, the A350 will be the flagship.

So, by your logic one can't call the A380 Airbus's flagship because in a few years the A350 will be the flagship?

I say that considering Airbus's main A380 customers, even if Airbus does care about LY, they certainly have other airlines that they care about more.

But Airbus does care about EL AL, so much so that it is/was in a dogfight with Boeing to secure orders from EL AL. Heck even the title of the article I gave you the link for is: "Boeing, Airbus in Dogfight Over El Al "

No shakshuka today. When I asked why, they said that it's only served on Sundays and Mondays as those are the busiest days. Why that logic should make sense I don't know but it is ElAl

Sorry in hebrew, but it confirms it is pier E, and will have 3 long range large aircraft bridges where 2 of them capable for A380.

NYTA Sep 19, 2014 6:38 pm

But what does it say about the shakshuka?

And in English -
It doesn't say in the header "E" as in the Hebrew, but it is "E" indeed

12 narrow-body slots or 8 wide-body slots, 2 for the A380, and no new shakshuka stand unfortunately

Anyone knows for when they plan to open this new gate area?

entropy Sep 20, 2014 6:05 pm

Hope they add a *A lounge, given the # of flights there, hopefully nicer than the DAN.

ELY001 will be happy they are indeed building A380 capable facilities.

Also, of note, on the diagram also shows additions to the terminal building.

On the IAA website quoted above, it says that there will be a lounge in the new concourse

Quadruplets - I see no difference between the Dan and Dan+ other than an additional room, but less comfortable seating
