July 2014 Mini-DO
THIS POST HAS BEEN EDITED:
WHAT ARE PEOPLE'S THOUGHTS FOR ANOTHER MINI-DO?

I land in Tel Aviv on Wednesday morning. My boss inquired as to where I'll be in Israel and I said "Tel Aviv". He asked if I was certain I wanted to go as things look pretty bad over there. I said that since my sons are in Israel, things would have to be at a level where I would feel the need to pull my sons out, in order for me to consider not going. That said, Modiin has thus far been pretty quiet whereas Tel Aviv has seen more activity. Am I nuts or simply Israeli?
Enjoy! Maybe it's time for another mini-DO! |

Mazal tov! This calls for a real celebration :)
|
Mazel Tov. I'll be in Israel in 8 days--who knows, I can try again to maybe attend.

Modiin has been very quiet - no alarms at all so far (I live there).
|
I'd be more interested in heading back to Jems or somewhere in Tel Aviv or Petach Tikva. Modiin might be harder to get to
|
Count me in.
|
yosithezet, what dates are you here?
|
I just left :(
|
Keep me posted! ( I will keep checking)
|
Sunday, Monday or Tuesday night should work next week.

Josh - there's a very good train service from Tel Aviv to Modiin.... |

I'm in for any of these - Modiin would be great, though Tel Aviv area also fine. Less sirens in Modiin!

<MOD QUESTION>Can you ask a question to vote on what day people prefer?</MOD QUESTION>

That works if it's in the mall if I'm not mistaken. Are there good places there to get together?
There are frequent trains from Tel Aviv to Moddin. There currently is no train service from Jerusalem to anywhere but there is frequent bus service by the Kavim company from the CBS and/or Binyanya Ha'uma area There are plently of Kosher cafes in the mall also |
If we do Modiin, I can't organize. I'll gladly come though :)
|
Modiin is assuming that EVERYONE comes from Tel Aviv or Jerusalem. What about people who first have to travel to get to Tel Aviv?

My preference is either TA or PT. I think Jem's worked really well last time.. "if it aint broke, why fix it?" type of thing.
Just to clarify... this is an ELAL do with the usual BA, CO & DL FQTVs and no LY... correct? ;) |

Given that last time the majority of us came from Ra'anana I thought we agreed to do the next one on our home turf. There is a Jems here.
|
I'll be near JRS from 27 July to 3 Aug, so will probably miss this one, but interested if its next week!
|
I cannot make it this week. Stay safe everyone!

Josh, may HaShem watch over you and everyone else, in Gaza and beyond.
|
Be safe Josh.

Be safe Josh!
For the person who asked. I am in Netanya--or will be starting Wed. night. ( arriving on 008, yup I actually fly El Al) I didn't vote in poll because I have no preference! ( that too should be a choice, IMHO) |
It looks like the thread lost steam. At any rate, I don't know any of you here personally, but I'd be happy to stop by. How about Ashkelon, where we can show a little support for the south?
Trains from Tel Aviv to Ashkelon take between 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the route. Buses also about 50 minutes from Tel Aviv, direct line 300 Egged. There is a direct line from Jerusalem which takes about 1:15-1:30. Of course, coming from Ashkelon I'm biased :-) |
