New "no show" fee - from Yediot
my own translation:
"From next Monday (Oct 14) all LY passengers who don't show up for a flight will pay a fine: 120$ on flights to Athens 170$ on flights to Europe 240$ on longer flights. Until now only passengers in cheap classes had to pay fines but now ths wil be for all passengers". What do you understand from this? will there be a fee for no show also in high classes? |
Link please.

couldn't find it in YNET |
Sorry, hebrew only:
http://www.ynet.co.il/articles/0,7340,L-4438004,00.html However, how is it different from cancelation fee? Is is just a way to hike it? |
I think the title of this thread should reflect the subject (we post plenty of articles from Ynet on here) so perhaps (if the OP doesn't mind) our Mod can change it?
As to the issue itself, I can see the logic behind it, but for "fully flexible" fares the charge is ridiculously high! :td: BA now impose a no show fee on fully flexible fares as well but it's a mere £15/$25 and it's waved for Gold card holders. By the way, I could have sworn Athens is in Europe... ;) |

Probably the reporter is a complete stranger to the concept of bands ( if not to the entire industry of commercial aviation...)
While a nice guy for a travel reported he's a little clueless to be honest... |
Here is the latest Ha'aretz article discussing the issue:
