Arkia launching flights to Goa and Cochin
https://www.themarker.com/news/aviat...mium-1.6920368
Starting in september, Arkia to start flying to Goa and Cochin using an A321neoLR plane
(Sounds awful to have a 7 hour flight on a narrow body plane like the A321).
Flights on Monday and Friday in September and October. From October the flights switch to Sunday/Thursday.

I guess you were just unlucky and BA flights were busy when you wanted to go. In theory no Saturday night stay necessary on most BA's WT fares out of TLV, so out Sun back Thu can be had for $800. I think possibly at times the sale fares require a weekend stay, but this is a normal published fare not sale.

Twenty-one years ago I flew on an El Al flight from Newark that originated in Chicago and was picking up some more passengers and fuel in Newark. It was one of the 767's. What made it strange was that it was a Saturday night flight in late spring or the summer so shabbat ended very late, which meant it only left Chicago after 10 or 11pm, and the scheduled departure time from Newark was a ridiculous 2:30AM. Newark airport was completely deserted at 1am and the flight ended up leaving 30 minutes early because everyone was already there and ready to go.
