That's good news. I always preferred LGW to LTN.

And let's assume the planes are never really empty, but with a minimal load factor ( 20%)?
I flew yesterday VNO - TLV & was surprised to see a totally fully flight.

The German carrier will increase the number of its weekly flights to Frankfurt and Munich from 31 to 36.

German carrier Lufthansa today announced that it is increasing the frequency of its flights to and from Israel starting from October. The airline will offer 13 weekly flights to Munich and 23 weekly flights to Frankfurt - in total 36 weekly flights instead of the current 31.

If they had fewer flights with bigger planes and real business class it could be better.

Cathay Pacific: Tel Aviv route exceeds our expectations (Globes, English)

They have increased frequency on the HKG-TLV route and are happy with it. They see an increase of Chinese tourists to Israel and more potential for growth in Israel. Also doesn't see a move anytime soon towards the LCC model.

Also told Israeli hotels to NOT offer Chinese food when wooing Chinese tourists!

Any idea why? Because it's not up to par with the real deal? I stayed at the InterContinental Vienna in February, and during breakfast they had a very authentic-looking Chinese section. There were quite a few Chinese tourists at the hotel (and in general), and nearly all partook from that Chinese spread (therefore assuming it was good quality).

Based on that observation, I actually would've expected Chinese food to be a pull...

He says so in the article.

The Ministry of Tourism has indeed set a goal of increasing the volume of Chinese tourists in Israel, and hotels are making preparations with food, booklets, and instructions in Chinese.

"My tip is that where people from Hong Kong are concerned, don't offer them Chinese food. We want to experience your local food. You don't have to make an effort; simply be yourselves. Be sociable, like you are. That's what we're looking for."
