Latest EasyJet Shocker

Believe or not, the orange Easy people have extended their brand name to a range of toiletries, proudly displayed on Boots shelves, called "Easy Man".

They are selling Easy Man aftershave, body spray, shower gel etc, admittedly at 50% off, presumably because there aren't many Easy Men frequenting the Liverpool Street branch of Boots.

I'm not sure who would buy Easy Man shower gel, but it strikes me as a ridiculous name for a brand. And a ridiculous brand to put on toiletries. Its like buying soap and condoms called Poundstretcher or Mr Byrite (if those quality brands still exist).

Now, may be there's also a range for girls - Easy Girl - which would appeal to young slappers, particularly of the NCL variety. That's an entirely different matter and I can even see some of the City secretaries clearing the shelves of that, if it exists.

But Easy Man ????

Is it? Didn't see the "4".

Easy 4 Men ... is even worse. It implies the consumer is... easy for men.

OMG..they even have a website http://www.easy4men.com/
How sad.

If someone finds it, post the link please - I can't find it, but it sounds interesting.

Didn't the bearded one sell a brand of condoms though? Although I suppose the brand link is a bit more "direct"....

And who can forget 'Virgin Brides'?

Branson even admitted he only started this because he like the name. It was sold to Berkertex a year or so ago. Not sure if anyone ever went there, but if you work in London you couldn't miss it as your taxi would forever be stuck outside it on the approach to Trafalgar Square.

The website (the "products" are aimed at no-nonsense men) implies that BA is the Gillette of airlines. What does that make Sleazyjet in the cut-throat world of air travel?

Why don't they just rename it SlapperJet or My-Legs-Are-Wide-Open-Jet ?

Well we have to remember that Stelios is the one with the Monte Carlo apartment so unless he is debted up to his neck then he can't be doing too bad.

At the end of the day he has found a niche for the type of client that will use his products and is milking it! Have you seen his EasyHotel venture! Classic! You have to pay extra if you want a room with a window! But rates start really cheap so it will appeal to a lot of folk. If you are out late and want to juct get up then not having a window is no big deal. Sure saves you from someone you know seeing you INSIDE an EasyHotel!

Maybe Stelios is marketing to the MSE.com folk
