easyJet Plus: a General Guide

easyJet Plus: General Guide
easyJet Plus is easyJet’s premium annual membership scheme, designed for travellers who regularly fly with the airline and want to experience a smoother, more flexible and comfortable journey. For an annual fee (currently £249), easyJet Plus unlocks a suite of exclusive benefits that can save both time and money, while adding convenience at every stage of your trip.

What is easyJet Plus?
Launched to bridge the gap between budget air travel and the perks of legacy carriers, easyJet Plus is a loyalty product rather than a traditional frequent flyer points programme. Instead of earning miles, members receive guaranteed benefits on every booking, regardless of fare type or destination, as long as the flight is operated by easyJet.

Core Benefits Explained

1. Free Seat Selection on Every Flight: One of the most valuable perks is the ability to choose any seat (including Up Front, Extra Legroom, or standard seats) at no additional cost. This is a significant saving, especially for those who prefer extra space or want to sit together with family or colleagues.

2. Speedy Boarding:easyJet Plus members are among the first to board, ensuring access to overhead locker space and a calmer boarding experience. This is particularly useful on busy routes or when travelling with hand luggage only.

3. Dedicated Bag Drop Desks: At most airports, easyJet Plus members have access to exclusive check-in and bag drop desks, significantly reducing waiting times during busy periods.

4. Fast Track Security: Enjoy access to fast track security lanes at over 40 major European airports, including London Gatwick, Manchester, and Edinburgh. This can be a real timesaver, especially during peak travel times.

5. Increased Cabin Baggage Allowance: Members are entitled to bring a large cabin bag (up to 56 x 45 x 25cm) on board free of charge, in addition to a small under-seat item. This benefit alone can offset a significant portion of the membership fee for frequent hand-luggage travellers, as easyJet’s standard fares only include a small cabin bag.

6. Free Same-Day Flight Changes: If you need to return earlier than planned, you can switch to an earlier easyJet flight on the same day for free (subject to seat availability). This must be arranged after the outbound flight has been taken and is ideal for business travellers or those with unpredictable schedules.

7. Onboard Discounts: easyJet Plus members receive 10% off all food and drink purchases from the onboard Eat.Drink.Shop. menu, excluding duty-free alcohol. This is automatically applied when you show your digital membership card.

8. Price Promise: If the price of your booked seat drops after you purchase it, easyJet will refund the difference as a flight voucher. This applies only to the member’s own seat and must be claimed before departure.

Membership Details & How It Works

Digital Membership: easyJet Plus is now fully digital, with membership cards available for Apple Wallet or Google Pay. This card must be shown at the airport and onboard to access benefits.
Annual Fee: £249/€289 per year (as of April 2025), with automatic renewal unless cancelled.
Family & Business Options: Additional cards can be purchased for partners and children at a reduced rate, and businesses can manage multiple memberships for employees.
Booking Process: Log in with your easyJet Plus account when booking to automatically apply benefits. For some perks (like fast track security), you may need to show your digital card at the airport.

Who Should Consider easyJet Plus?

Frequent Flyers: If you fly with easyJet more than 5-6 times per year, the savings and convenience can easily outweigh the annual fee.
Business Travellers: The flexibility of same-day flight changes and fast track security are particularly valuable for those with dynamic schedules.
Families and Groups: Free seat selection and priority boarding make group travel more comfortable and less stressful.
Hand-Luggage Only Travellers: The large cabin bag allowance can save substantial fees over multiple trips.

Additional Considerations
• Not a Points Programme: easyJet Plus does not offer points or tiered status. Benefits are fixed and apply to the member only (unless additional cards are purchased).
• Availability: Some benefits, such as fast track security and dedicated bag drop, may not be available at all airports or on all flights.
• Booking for Others: Benefits only apply to the named member unless extra cards are purchased for companions.
• Combine with easyJet Holidays: Membership benefits also apply to flights booked as part of easyJet Holidays packages.

normally you can't use a status gained through a match to obtain another status match (since all the legacy carriers use the same processing company) ...

but with EasyJet running this promotion themselves ... presumably anybody who has obtained FB status through a match can still use it to get the 145 euro discount !

Yes, I know it's a promotion aimed at the first year for new subscribers. But, as gaming offers is an interesting sideline of Flyertalkers, I wonder if a second year will be countenanced - maybe this time using a voucher code for easyJet+ membership obtained with FlyingBlue credentials as the new gateway?
