Gatwick-Prague Cancelation 8th July 2023
Looking for some advice. Gatwick to Prague EZY8781 on Saturday 8th July was cancelled less than 3 hours before scheduled departure time. Reason given was no crew available. No other flights available for 36 hours so refund applied for. Now having submitted compensation claim EasyJet refuse it saying cancellation was weather related. Any idea how I can establish if any other departures from LGW were cancelled that morning or any other assistance to disprove EasyJets claim . Thanks in advance and sorry for long winded first post.

you may contact Gatwick airport with messenger (there is a button available on their website) requesting to send you the list of flights on July 8th.
Their website only shows today and yesterday's flights only but they might be able to provide them on a specific date. So if you were able to see that other Easyjet flights took off on the same day and around the same time, the weather excuse is BS. The airport may also provide you info about weather and cancellations too.

Thanks for your responses.
EasyJet were not very accommodating with regard to an alternative flight. The only one available which had seats available for my whole party was from LGW at 1800 the following day (Sunday). Due to the fact that our return was on the Monday this was not a viable solution. Despite all the promises of assistance on their website this was the only offer of assistance they made.
In respect of the cancellation they clearly stated at 0900 that the delay was due to crew issues and again at cancellation at 0940 it was because of a lack of crew. Any Force Majeure (adverse weather) may well have come later and this has allowed EasyJet to hide behind that. Whatever it was it did not prevent 40 flights , including 13 easyJet ones, from departing Gatwick between 0940 and 1200 that day.
Again thanks for your help and advice. I will look into a claim from my travel insurance.
