cancel easyjet - best option
 

Good morning,

I Need to cancel an easyJet flight.. I red they charge 30eur fee.. is that legal? first Question.
second .. I reed they charge that fee if you CANCEL.. but if I dont use my flight I get back the usual Government fees.. So is this the better way because I wont pay a cancelation fee but the fees i get in return are the same ?

yes cancellation fees are perfectly legal.

And I think they also charge a fee if you just don't take the flight and request the Government Taxes and airport fees element of the fare.

You can only cancel within 24 hours of booking.

After this period, the ticket is completely non-refundable.

The fee you have stated is incorrect; it's €37 or 30GBP if done online, €43 or GBP37if done via the call center

It may have changed, but I have claimed back APD on a couple of UK domestic flights and there was no fee charged.

There is no refund of airport fees AFAIK.

I think I understand their system now:
within 30days they refund everything for a fee.

after that the usual refund of taxes without fee.. lets give it a try! thnx

very friendly messenger support.. a few back and forth and I was refunded the taxes... no fees. great!

Their chat support is excellent! Used it a couple of times making changes I couldn't do online (adding baggage for return leg only).

Sure because on a no show the seat might go unsold and empty. This way they keep your ticket money and sell the seat again because they know you cancelled it. The taxes are not theirs to keep regardless so they are better off being cooperative. They are now hoping that seat is cancelled and resold four more times.
