easyjet baggage weight category.

I was trying to prepay baggage for my easyjet flight, but the options are 15kg, 23kg, 26kg. Is 26kg option a mistake (shouldn't it be 32kg??)??

lehovec Feb 27, 2018 6:57 am

No, not mistake. On the main screen 15kg, 23kg and 26kg are shown. If you want heavier bag you need to click onto Add sports equipment or different weight bags. When you click there all different weights are selectable including 32kg.

thanks. If we have 2 people in our reservation, and prepay for 2x23 kg baggage, can we check 1 20 kg bag and 1 26 kg bag (total weight of checked bags not exceeding total weight prepaid for) ?? Or individual bag must not exceed 23 kg?

If you are both on the same booking then yes, you can pool baggage allowance up to the maximum weight purchased however no single bag can exceed 32kg.

Looking at EasyJet for first time and wondering about the luggage as well. Seems it would be best to just book the seats now and add baggage later. Our other flights will be on BA (First, Club Europe) and Scandinavian (with *G luggage allowance), this flight will be the one before our return home in BA Club. Long story short we'll do most of our shopping after the Easy Jet flight so weight shouldn't be too much of an issue. Assume I should just wait until after our flight in to Copenhagen (at which time I'll have a good idea of our luggage weigh) and then add-on the luggage for our EasyJet flight from CPH to Berlin. Would this be the best strategy? From the research I've done baggage charges are the same as long as not bought during check-in at airport? Correct?

Correct

Hope this helps Maximum total size (length + width + height) = under 275cm

Each customer including children and infants can buy up to three hold bags. A standard hold bag is 23kg (for new bookings made from 15 November 2017)*. You can buy extra weight in 3kgs units, up to a maximum of 32kg per bag.

Infants booked to travel on an adult’s lap cannot add hold luggage.

If you’re travelling with family or friends on the same flight and booking, you can pool your total weight allowance.

No single item can weigh more than 32kg.

We've got new bag options to suit every kind of trip:
  • 15kg bag. The smart choice for a short break.
  • 23kg standard bag. If you're going away for a little longer our standard bag is the perfect choice. Available to buy from 15 November 2017.
  • Up to 32kg bag. For those who pack everything except the kitchen sink.
*If you made your booking before 15 November 2017 and bought a 20kg hold bag our new bag policy will not affect your booking and your bag allowance will remain 20kg.

Related question, it looks like I can carry on one bag but if I bought a FLEXI fare I could bring another bag to put under my seat. Of course I didn't buy a FLEXI fare and I can't find an option to buy an additional carry-on - is that just not an option at this point?

You can do it indirectly by booking an upfront or extra legroom seat which also gives you speedy boarding and dedicated bag drop.

If I already booked my ticket, though… is there a way to "upgrade" it?

lehovec Apr 28, 2018 2:16 am

Just go into your booking and click on change seats. Selecting any seat in rows from 1-5 {or 6 on a320} or emergency exit seat will give you extra bag and speedy boarding.
if you have already checked in then you will have to call their call center to change your seats.

That was the trick - thank you!

Remember you can take 23kg as hand luggage.

There is actually no hand baggage weight limit on easyJet providing you can lift it in the locker unaided.
