Tripods and flying - EasyJet.
A few years ago (like 9), my other half flew on Ryanair from Stansted. Security confiscated his tripod because it could have been used as a weapon.
He had previously checked with Ryanair that they would allow it which they said they would, but unfortunately security thought otherwise. We are flying on Friday 10 Feb from LGW on Easyjet. Does anyone have experience of flying with a tripod? What to do / not do? Its a carbon fibre one that collapses to less than the height of a cabin bag. Cheers :) |
You'll be fine, I do this all the time (though admittedly not on EasyJet), mostly within America and to Europe and Asia. If you can put it in the bag, even better. My travel tripod is a 3LT Brian which fits easily in a standard carryon.

I've travelled with a tripod many times with no problems, albeit never on FR. It is too big for my carryon so I just have it loose.
