EasyJet "double" reservation question

My wife, son and I booked an EasyJet flight this winter for travel in August. Because of business obligations that came up after the ticket was booked, we need to return a day or two early. As I understand the fees and changes page of the EasyJet website, change fees for travel during the summer are 65 Euro per person per flight. I can book a new return flight for just 25 Euro per person. So it seems to me that paying a change fee is a lot more expensive that just buying a new ticket (and throwing away the old one). My question is, will having two reservations for the same route on back to back days be a problem? Will it be a problem to just be a no-show for the original return flight. We will keep the outbound as is, so we're just buying a new return a day or two earlier than originally scheduled. Everything OK with that? I haven't flown EasyJet much and just wanted to be sure I was doing this the right way.

Unless the 2 reservations are for the same flight, you won't have any problems.

Not applicable to your case, but just so others may see this: unlike most airlines, easyjet does not cancel the return flight if you don't fly the outbound.

You will have no problems whatsoever. On your original booking you will be a no show for rtn journey. Also depending on routing / amount paid you could even claim taxes + APD back for non used portion - admin fee.

Even in this case it would not be a problem as long as you advise check in. It would be treated as an extra seat.

Thanks for all the replies. Sounds like we'll just buy the new seat, then.

APD only for UK origins and no admin fee.
