Easyjet sued for refusing disabled

FRANCE'S anti-discrimination body, the Halde, has begun legal action against Easyjet for refusing a disabled passenger who was travelling alone.
Marie-Patricia Hoarau, from Fréjus in the Var, who has been paraplegic since a cycling accident 19 years ago, was made to get off an Easyjet flight from Paris to Nice in March and told she could not travel alone.
Another traveller offered to accompany her but crew reportedly refused because the two passengers had not boarded at the same time.

Easyjet are out of order. Why should someone accompany her?

Reckon she doesn't have a case - EU law covers this sort of thing and the basic is that if someone can't do things like board themselves, get off the plane by themselves (including in an emergency) then they have to travel with a companion.

Checked a number of airline websites and whilst the wording isn't the same, the intent is. And it doesn't apply to just Europe

You didn't answer the last point which was that Easy Jet refused to allow her to be accompanied by a stranger even though the stranger had agreed to voluntarily undertake the responsibility and the disabled passenger was fine with it.

Haven't the foggiest but I would suspect that it's to do with the unplanned nature of the assistance.

Then there's a problem with EU law.

And from the looks of things non-EU law - I did post the regs for United which read very similar to those of EU based airlines.
