nearly underaged driver needs advice on avoiding surcharge
 

Hi there!

My brother is turning 25 in december this year.

So technically, he is 24 if you count by the day, but 25 if you count by the year.

Would Dollar charge him the underaged driver surcharge? The surcharge can really kill! Like $25 per day. :td:

Is it true that it is the counter staff who actually decide whether or not to impose the surcharge? And are they "sweet-talk"-able? :D

Maybe it's just me, but I haven't been able to sweet talk out of any underage fee. I've just decided to go with Enterprise for the time being. There are some coupons that you can use to waive the stupid surcharge. I think Thrifty also has some corporate rates that waive the fee as well.

Does Enterprise not have an underage driving surcharge?
Our youth minister is wanting to rent a van to take a youth group trip and I believe he is 23 and would have to pay the fee? Where would I find coupons to waive the fee? Thanks, Deb-Indiana

Enterprise does charge an underage fee, but it varies by location.

Apparently, National does have a code that waives the underage fee. Search "underage National" and that does the trick, I think. I've used the code for some good discounts that some of the other Contract IDs weren't able to provide.
