renting from Dollar or Thrifty for Southwest points
 

Dollar and Thrifty both charge $1.50 per day as a Frequent Flyer charge if you use Southwest as the airline partner. You get 600 Southwest points.

The problem is that they give you 600 points PER RENTAL. And still charge you $1.50 for all days in your rental after day one. So for a weekly rental you get 600 points and pay $10.50 in "frequent flyer" charges. After the first day, you get NOTHING for the $1.50 daily charge. Cha-ching!

Anyone called Dollar after a rental and asked for refund of all "frequent flyer" daily charges over the first $1.50 charged?

I have been using UA or AA as my airline partner in all Dollar rentals over 1 day...
