US DOT ruling on close captioning on airports with federal fundings/10k flights year
A friend of mine in the captioning industry alerted this to me. It will be interesting to see how useful this will be. Now if they would extend it to airlines...
Last week [August], the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) issued a ruling that requires closed captioning on all televisions in US airports that receive federal funding and experience at least 10,000 flights annually.

All public-facing audio-video displays must include captions, whether they are at the ticket counters, security area, gates, lounges, restaurants, or airport shops.
