Access to Mont Saint Michel

They have some handicap spots near the entrance. But access is very limited if you have difficulty walking. Wheelchairs can only get a small distance from the main entry gate. This section is filled with shops. To get to the actual monastery, you must walk up stairs quite a ways. It is then a fair number of steps to get into the actual church. When I was there, I saw several people in wheelchairs in the entry section, but they tended to wait there while the rest of the party did the climb.
