carrying tablets and injection

I am a new member. I have googled it and even read through airline pages but cant find answer. I have already searched these forums for my question but cant find the answer to.

My question is this, can a passenger carry hepatitis C tablets and injection?

If yes then should those be in hand carry along with the Dr prescription?


my preferred airlines are Emirates, Qatar and Turkish airlines and I frequently travel to schengen states.

The answer is general yes. But, to be certain:

1. Carry a written prescription written in both your native language and English.
2. Confirm that the specific medications you take are admissible in each country to which you propose to either travel or transit.

Any nation's closest consulate can answer your question.

Don't rely on what people told you used to be the case.

From my personal experience over 10 years, I have taken my injectable packs and tablets on multiple airlines (including Qatar).

Never have I had a problem. I usually tell them at X-ray what I'm carrying, and most times they have have not even inspected closely. The most notice was taken in India with my actual injector as it looks like it could fire projectiles at first glance but even they were cool after an explanation.

I carry my prescriptions/labels with me but I've never had to show them. Likewise I've stopped telling the FAs as they never seemed to care.

I have traveled quite a few times myself (twice this year) and I have noticed security personnel take bottles and throw them away at airport checkin lines. I even heard a woman arguing with the officers but they didnt care and threw away the tablets and her beauty products bottles.

that's why I got bit scared. I have to travel after a month and I wanna be 100% sure about this. I have already emailed embassy of the country I intend to travel but its been a few days now and still no reply and no one seems to pick up embassy's phone call.

Yep, I've had people around me lose their liquids as well - and whilst I'm going through with ice packs, liquid filled syringes, sterile water filled catheters...

If in doubt, get your meds supplier to write a letter to carry with you explaining why you have to carry them and can't be in hold luggage (mine have to be chilled but not frozen).

And just say 'meds pack' to the pre-control bottle police and they'll leave you alone.
