What would they do to others who cannot do what he did?

We need "Sit Your Ground" laws for situations like this.

This story boggles the mind.

The moral is: do not leave the aircraft. If the crew can't/won't provide the appropriate assistance, request the CRO. Do not leave the aircraft.
