I'm not sure if this qualifies as a fish "dish" but it has fish and you consume it so I suppose it counts. I may be off on some of the details but I am close (it was ordered and explained to us by a Japanese guest at a dinner in Tokyo). It starts with sake and then the fin of a blowfish is added. The fin is allowed to rot in the sake. Once done it is served. But prior to serving they light it on fire to burn some of the smell away so you don't throw up. It tasted more or less like you would expect. :(

Favorites- Salmon, Mahi mahi

Least- I enjoy many different fish but can't really single any out. Off the top of my head, anchovies is not a favorite.

(Edit: I did think of another least favorite while having this for lunch recently- Tuna out of the can. Cannot think of anything worse or more disgusting)

My favorite fish is probably grilled tuna followed closely by fried catfish.

My least favorites are lutefisk and gelfite fish. I've never had sea urchin and since it is referred to as the "liver of the sea", I probably never will.

I don't blame you. Sea urchin to me has the consistency of wet sand, blech.

Sea urchin is very similar to oysters. Somewhat slippery but delicious, capturing the essence of the pure sea flavour. Favourite place on this planet to eat uni is at the fishmarket in Hakodate, Hokkaido. Sea urchin and squid, maybe also some roe on top of a donburi rice bed. Out of this World.

Tilapia; most of it farmed, after spending life swimming around in what amounts to a cesspool.
Catfish; another oily bottom feeder.
