Crisis discounts at high-end restaurants

As suggested in this thread, it would be useful to have a thread dedicated to high-end restaurants offering great discounts.

To kick off, here is a recent blog post with 20 meals for under GBP35 in London at various michelin-starred restaurants.

Some of my favourites in London include:

Alain Ducasse - 3 course meal with wine, coffee, water GBP45.
Hibiscus - 3 courses, 1 glass of wine, coffee, GBP33,50
le Gavroche - 3 courses, wine, coffee, water GBP48
Sketch - 3 courses, sherry, 1/2 bottle of wine, coffee, water GBP48

I am copiling a list of many other deals in London which I will post later.

Please add suggestions below and include information about city. price and inclusions.

It's a great time to be a foodie ^

The Square (London, Mayfair, another 2 Michelin star one) is doing a 2-course lunch for £30 and 3-course lunch for £35.

It was absolutely packed the other day, and the food was pretty good. I had the tasting menu so I don't know how the lunch menu dishes tasted, but the menu sounded quite good.

I haven't been to Sketch but I agree with the other three you've listed - they're all great.

Must certainly try the Square!

Another one: l'ambassade de l'ile. From 35 for a 3 course lunch. Really liked the food and decor.

We did the lunch specials at JG and Cafe Boulud in NYC last week. Recommend both (I liked CB better - but that's because I like its style of food better). One word of caution with CB. It is located in the Surrey Suites hotel on E. 76 Street - which is currrently undergoing massive renovations. So you will hear some occasional construction noise (at least it was occasional when we were there). Note that CB is planning to close sometime in August for its own renovations. Robyn
