Thoughtful concerns have been raised about this thread....
After due consideration, we've decided that in the interest of a) not creating an opportunity for post-padding -- intentional or not -- (barred by FT Rule 14); and b) having a thread that is not unintentionally dominated by a small number of people (giving space for other voices), going forward there will be a two-post-per 24 hours rule in place. We hope that this will give more diverse voices the opportunity to chime in.
We'll be merging or deleting posts that don't follow this rule.

Saffron, wildflower honey vanilla chai with rose water added. Not sure I'll ever get the flavor exactly the same two times in a row, but I've been goofing around with tea long enough to know that I enjoy playing around with tea concoctions rather than to come up with a consistently-delivered recipe.
Maybe tomorrow night's drink will follow a recipe for a Thai iced tea.

Iced water and iced Chinese tea , with ice cubes aplenty ( yes , almost heresy .. ) , ice bucket by me . This in an old Teochew establishment !

Restaurants even change your cup or pot for a fresh one if the tea is not hot !
And just be “ warned “ that if you are at a fancy - like almost Michelin starred restaurant , you might receive looks for asking for ice with your tea ..
The belief is that drinking Chinese or Japanese tea hot is to help with digestion . More importantly , ease ones insides from the grease in the meal .
