Water Bottle Refillers Thread
I know there is a lot of us who carry water bottles into security to fill.
1) What bottle or bladder do you carry? 2) Where is good and bad water (assume fountains by RRs)?, If only bad water in term where is a good deal for bottled? 3) Can you get it filled in flight? 4) Do you use filters of any kind? 5) Why do you do it? 1) Camelback Better Bottle .75L caribinered onto bag, Also have used 100oz Mule hydration pack(I was taking it for hiking anyway). 2) LGA=bad, DFW/BOS=Good, street fountains in Rome=awesome!^ 3) AA FAs usually fill it half. Some say they can't puor into in my bottle for sanitary reasons.?!? I usually get it full when I ask to buy a bottle onboard. 4) MSR Miniworks EX(really for camping) 5)can't spill, save $$, I drink a lot or else I get migraines, don't like throwing away plastic(recycling is OK), bottled H2O isn't that great http://abcnews.go.com/Business/story?id=87558&page=1 |

Why pay for water, at least in the US? Unless it's lousy tasting (like New Orleans) tap water, filling from the water fountain is fine. Lots of the H2O in bottles is filled by municipal suppliers, anyway.

OK I have seen quite a few posts on this topic but I guess I am in the minority and maybe a little odd too.:)

Used to wear a 100oz. Camel (ex-USAF) but now I compulsively wash and refill a 33oz. bottle and one of those 75oz. jugs from Bed Bath and Beyond.

I have a SwissGear bottle that I bring with me through security, but don't use it during my travel time unless I'm super thirsty. I would refill it in the lounge, usually.
