Memorable London dining experience?

I'm going to be in London for a weekend (May23) and am looking for a memorable dining experience that won't break the bank (<50 pounds without drinks). For an example, I always recommend New York city visitors have Sunday brunch in the Blue Room at the top of the Rockefeller Center. It's a total "Wow!" experience.

I've posted a similar query in the U.K. and Ireland forum, but came up empty handed. I'm hoping the subject title will perk the interests of international foodies.

Thanks in advance!

How many people? You can get close to that at St. John for one person I suspect. While the San Pelligrino list of the best restaurants in the world (there is a thread on it here) has been criticized, St. John is on it. Whether that list is good or not, St. John is truly outstanding. One of my other favorites in London, and very reasonable for the quality (maybe 35 pounds plus drinks) is Wodka on St. Albans Grove. It is a modern interpretation of Polish food and quite unusual and very good. I have been there a number of times and always been thoroughly pleased. Another possibility is a gastropub such as Anchor and Hope. Again, excellent food and well priced.

Quick look in the UK forum shows these recent threads....

Cheap dining in London?

Best Fish and Chips in London?

They may give you a start.....I do think this thread belongs in the UK forum, I'm sure you'll get a plethora of ideas it might have been that you stuck the question onto a thread about something unrelated.

since the OP already has a similar thread in the UK/ Ireland forum, I'm going close this one down and refer everyone back to that one.
