In Holland (though you may not believe it). Poentjak and Senajang in The Hague come to mind.

Plus, you can get your fries served with Pindasaus (peanut sauce). I've found decent sate at the local Thai restaurant and at Stir Crazy (an Asian chain place). But to be honest, the best Saté is homemade, I make a killer peanut sauce :D |

If quality of food is paramount, make it yourself. Otherwise,
choose based on what kind of atmosphere you are seeking. I recommend Lau Pa Sat at 1 in the morning, surrounded by drunken FlyerTalkers. Uncle's recommendation isn't bad, either. |

I had a revalation when I first tried Malaysian sates-totally different then the ones in Thai restaurants!So much better!
There is a very small but very nice Malay place on Post street in San Francisco,whish I could remember the name of it-great Sates-including delicious lamb! |
