If you try doing that in Asia, you would probably get billed for 4 breakfasts ;)
Thats for sure! I once stayed at the Eurotel in Las Pinas, Metro Manila. It wasn't the nicest place. Roughly on par with a Motel 6 in Atlanta. LOL I was referred by an associate who had also stayed there on business travel. The place wasn't at all what I expected but I figured it was alright for thirty-five bucks per night. I ordered breakfast from their menu. It was @ pieces of tapa (small pieces of dried beef similar to jerky) and egg. I emphasize EGG. This didn't begin to touch my appetite so I ordered for another meal and asked for extra portions. The charged me for two and all i got was 3 pieces of Tapa. After that they'd never answer the phone when I tried to ring room service. As if I was the one trying to cheat them.... :td: As for the 5 star tip, I'll be sure to try that. Sounds like a great way to stretch your meal budget. |
I have done this at times when staying alone, purely to get more to eat, and I've always got what I ordered.
I mean, why not? If you'd taken the buffet downstairs you could have had croissant AND pain au chocolat. Why assume its either / or when ordered as room service?! |
[QUOTE=dankyone;7691857]I have found in the UK and Ireland this is accepted and you will get away with it. Particularly since many hotels (5* in London excepted) in that region include breakfast in the rate already.
I tried it in France and was billed for many items a la carte so that the total turned out to be more than 2 breakfasts.[/QUOTEI] Ditto - no problem in London but Paris was a mistake. |
