Sure, if you go to the grocery store and shop in the frozen food aisle. I buy fresh food and cook it at home -- costs little and tastes great. |

I'm mildly curious about the 'Chicken Big Mac' that they've been advertising. Has anybody had it? I imagine its a McChicken but with the big mac sauce, but not much different.
Pass on it. not worthwhile or enjoyable IMO. They've taken the McChicken patties & used to replace the hamburger patties. As a result, too much breading. I'll enjoy the occaisonal spicy McChicken sandwich but I'll toss one side of the bun and add tomatoes, pickles, cheese.

I eat breakfast at McD's once a week while on the road and I think it's fine for what it is. Either a big breakfast (no hotcakes) or a couple of muffin sandwiches.
I'm all about Chick Fil A chicken biscuit sandwiches if I do have fast food breakfast. Really tasty. I limit myself to one per month. |

Bojangles has better biscuit sandwiches. CLT has a Bojangles. |
I just had the Mighty Wings (remember those?) in a China McDonalds, they're every bit as good (and slightly overpriced) as I remember them

A friend works for a McD's franchisee, not in one of the affected states though. Just to be safe, they have tossed all the meat for their quarter pounders, as well as any other food products associated with the quarter pounders.

I tried Bojangles at CLT, I thought it was meh at best, not up to Chick Fil A. To be specific, quality of Bojangles biscuit and chicken was subpar. That said, I did make a note that maybe because of an airport location that it was subpar, will have to give Bojangles a try elsewhere.

Nothing is made fresh in a McDonald's anymore, Everything is prepped outside the store and delivered. I worked there back in the late 80's and early 90's. I used to be a biscuit maker as a crew member, but back then you could go to different stores and get a soft flaky biscuit at one store or a hockey puck at another. To get a more consistent product, McDonald's decided to have them made at an outside place, parbaked and frozen for final cooking in the store. To me the quality went down at the stores who were doing it right, but better at the ones that were like hockey pucks.
Slivered Onions were pre-sliced and brought in bags way back then, so it is nothing new. Lettuce was shredded as well. The restaurants are like assembly plants now. The E.Coli could have come from the onions or the meat, but it should be limited to a certain region as each area usually has its produce grown and cut nearby as well as their meat production. Just an FYI, When Boston Market first started, only the chicken was cooked in store. All the side dishes were made in central kitchen and delivered multiple times a day until the expansion of stores brought the product to in store production. I was involved in the routing of the trucks back then. Even Dunkin' Donuts uses a central kitchen where the local store finishes them up with the filling and icing. Hence, FAST FOOD |

Went to McDonald's in Eleele, HI this morning as we always do one local breakfast (Spam, eggs and rice) when we're on the island (Kauai). We walked in and immediately agreed that we were eating in the car. It was so COLD in there, we could see our breath. Literally. I took a video.

I thought McD's still made one item from scratch in store - the egg for the egg mcmuffin. Do they no longer crack an egg into the ring mold and cook it in the store?
The round egg is cooked in store. How McDonalds eggs are cooked. |
While I'm happy that the bagel sandwiches are back, the bagels they use now definitely aren't the same as before. Even though they are toasted, they still taste like they're untoasted, which makes the sandwich a disappointment. My favorite fast food breakfast right now is the Wendy's sausage biscuit and season potatoes for $3.

I am finding this year's return of the McRib a little disappointing. The Sauce is very watery/thin compared to year's past and the sandwich seems to have a lot more onions as well. I can pick off the extra onions, but the sauce being as runny as it is, causes little added flavor as when it was thicker.
I wish the app would have an easy button as it has the extra button when selecting condiments. |

I was in Southlake, TX last week and had one of the best sausage, egg, and cheese McMuffins ever. Something about the taste of the cheese really brought everything together.
I enjoy flying through DFW for the McMuffins, as well. |
For those of you that like McDs, they are having a different special each day before Christmas

McRib is crap now compared to what it was decades ago. |
I know I can make it myself as a hack, but anyone ever tried taking a McCrispy Chicken sandwich and added BBQ sauce? I think it tastes great.

Don't we have steak, eggs and cheese bagels here in Phoenix, AZ? Perhaps I can go get a breakfast at McDonald's. Don't they have it??
|
I don't believe steak is available everywhere (not that I have looked very hard). Sausage and bacon bagel sandwiches are definitely around.

I don't ever recall McDonalds giving out birthday rewards, but I did get a free Spicy McChicken this year :)

We do have two McDonald's restaurants on Saipan, one at a gas station I like to use, because of the free wi-fi. 🤠
I still haven't downloaded the app. :o |

If you download the McDonald's app and choose a McDonald's near you, you should be able to see that particular restaurant's current menu. And you might even get a discount if you place your order on the app, instead of in the restaurant. ;)

Check out this keen thread from an English-language weblog describing what not merely McDonald's, but Burger King, and Wendy's, and several other Japanese fast food chains have. |
My wife and I always make an effort in trying McDonalds while traveling. Once per foreign country.
Some of our favorites were in India with their McSpicy Paneer & Chicken Maharaja Mac. Slightly related — the Economist has something called the “Big Mac Index.” They analyze how something identical (Big Mac) can be drastically different across borders. Not surprising, Switzerland is the highest with their Big Mac costing $7.99 with India being the lowest at $2.61 — maybe veg/chicken is cheaper? They have their data on GitHub if you want to look at the numbers — including lots of historical data. |

Don't restict yourself to just items offered @ McDonald's (some of them are offered at the McDonald's HQ in River West Chicago).

Monopoly is back… out of curiosity, I’ve tried the online AMOE and won 16 food and/or points prizes in 4 days, in addition to reaching the automatic $10 Best Buy reward.

A little messy, but well worth the price of $6.19 plus tax Now I have a reason to go to the local store every day for either lunch or dinner. However, I will check the app to find out if another store in the area may have a lower price. |

Here in South Florida, the McRib is back again for 2025. It hasn't been advertised as of yet, not even on the drive-thru menu board or windows of the restaurant. I found out when I went to order on the App, some Double cheeseburgers for my girls:

That’s strange since I ordered a McRib last Friday. Initially I was ordering a snack wrap but ordered the messiest McDonalds sandwich. |
