Since no one else has replied:

I wonder whether your post was prompted by the new Domino's promotion. If so, here is your answer:

It's No Trick ... Domino's Delivers a Slice of Brooklyn

Pizza Delivery Experts Introduce New Brooklyn Style Pizza in Time for the
Halloween Rush

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Oct. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Just in time for Halloween --
when Domino's (NYSE: DPZ) expects to sell one million pizzas in a single
day -- the world leader in pizza delivery is launching its newest creation,
Brooklyn Style Pizza.
The new Brooklyn Style Pizza is crafted with Domino's signature, hand-
tossed dough stretched thin and cut into 6 big, foldable slices. The pizza
includes a blend of mozzarella and provolone cheeses and a choice of new
extra large Brooklyn-style sausage or pepperoni. Available in select
markets beginning this week and nationwide on October 30 . . .

Domino's is finally realizing that its nationwide version of crud needs revamping and wants to see if it can imitate pizza from Brooklyn? Oh that's amusing. What happened to its cheeseburger pizza which it was marketing through Donald Trump? I guess that failed.....so now it wants to become like a nice pie from Bensonhurst?

While improving the crust is a good move, why stop there? So they'll still have the same tasteless toppings? :D

Yeah right......if you want pizza, come to New York. Don't even THINK that Dominos is it. :D Thanks for the laugh. ^

LOL!

Forget that, cash in some miles and go to Naples, eat real pizza in a place that has been making them since 1780 -Pizzeria Brandi, made with San Marzano tomatoes, real Bufala Mozzarella and fresh basil.

You'll never put that sloppy mess with processed cheese and tasteless tomato paste that passes for pizza across America (and for that matter England) into your mouth again.... ;)

An advertising gimmick.

‘Brooklyn Style Pizza’ Meets the Real Deal
By KIM SEVERSON
Published: November 8, 2006

IT took no small amount of courage to walk into one of the great Brooklyn pizzerias with a Domino’s Brooklyn Style Pizza in our hands.

“Get that thing out of here,” was the first thing Totonno’s owner, Louise Ciminieri, said when she saw the Domino’s box.

That article in Wednesday's paper was hilarious.

My favorite parts:

...from Mrs. Ciminieri at Totonno’s, who was finally persuaded to taste a Domino’s slice in the name of research.

“In Utah, they’re going to love it because they use ketchup and American cheese on their pizzas,” she said.

The Domino’s pizza has an oddly sweet crust that somehow manages to blend the characteristics of cotton and rubber.

Adam Kuban, the founding editor of www.sliceny.com, a Web site devoted to New York pizza, felt it was his duty to taste the new pizza. Mr. Kuban declared it good — for a Domino’s pie, that is. And he’s just as puzzled as the next Brooklynite over what constitutes a Brooklyn-style pizza.

“It seems to be the same style you get in Manhattan and Queens,” he said. Pizza in the Bronx sometimes has a cornmeal crust, and in Staten Island the best places bake pizzas with a little more crunch in the crust. But Brooklyn probably has the best pizza of the five boroughs, he said.

Marketing experts for Domino’s, which is based in Ann Arbor, Mich., said they studied pizza in Brooklyn carefully before introducing the new pie.

“We found that Brooklyners like to eat their pizza differently,” said Dana Harville, a spokeswoman for Domino’s. “They like floppy, large slices, and they fold them into almost a sandwich.”

But that’s no different from the way thousands of people in any of the other boroughs eat a slice. So why call it Brooklyn Style as opposed to, say, Staten Island Style?

As part of the marketing of that culture, Domino’s has started a couple of contests. One is a drawing for a vintage New York taxi, even though everyone knows it’s almost impossible to hail a cab in Brooklyn.
Given all of this, I'm sure this will indeed be a hit in Utah. :D ^

I agree with this 100%.

Although the two I have gone to in Naples that are worth remembering at Pizzeria Di Matteo and L'antica Pizzera Da Michele (pretty close to the train station).

Di Matteo is a bit more hidden but packed nightly (it was on a thursday night in 2004) and it was fantastic.

Of course, L'Antica has become more and more a tourist destination. I first went in 2004, and it was some tourists but the menu was only in Italian and an old man dressed neatly in a tie was making pizzas with care and precision at some ridiculous speed. Pizza (only Marinara and Margherita offered) was fantastic, with San Marzano tomatoes and Buffala Mozz.

Fast forward one year, they have menus in different languages, young guys making pizzas, losing for photos with Japanese tourists (the place was packed with tourists) but the Pizza retained the same quality that it had before and I feel given the passion for food in Italy, and pizza in Naples, that this will remain the case.

That lends as much credibility as those pizza places that sell so-called “New York style” pizza with sub sandwiches.

There was a Domino’s Pizza on Avenue L in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn that made real Brooklyn pizzas — and no, it was not affiliated with the chain known as Domino’s Pizza.

It was there long before I ever heard of the chain, which would not know how to make a “Brooklyn-style pizza” if they — well — insert your own analogy here, because I cannot think of one that is goofy enough to describe what I am trying to convey.

By the way, we are known as “Brooklynites”.

Ever since 1995 or so (when I first moved to the Ann Arbor area), I've referred to Domino's (as well as Little Caesars, and other pizza places in the same vein) as "Michigan Crappy," as that style of pizza is all over the place there. (Example: My friend prefers Michigan Crappy, but I think it's cardboard compared to what you get in Chicago.)

This thread is insulting to Brooklynites everywhere. With that in mind, I believe that it's violates the TOS, and should be locked.

I may even report this post. ;)

That will do you absolutely no good whatsoever.

Because this forum has no assigned moderator, I will receive the report.
