That, minus the spam, was what was regularly served on Delta flights a couple years back. It reminded me of the reheated frozen pizza, very doughy crust & sweet sauce with minimal dry mozzarella, served at my high school snack bar. Minus the corn, of course.

When I think of the worst pizza, I think of what I call the "Michigan crappy" genre (Domino's, Little Caesars, Hungry Howie's, etc.), but from what I've read, I'm sure that St. Louis-style pizza gives it a run for its money.
I'd also completely blocked out the nastiness that is Chuck E. Cheese until this thread. Go figure. Mike |

As soon as return to NJ, the first thing I eat is pizza and never stop eating it until I leave. (No I am not a 400lb hippo either).
I don't even order it in restaurants for the fear of being disappointed, again. Long live NY pizza. God I miss NY pizza...a few years ago in Nashville, there was a place named Guido's Pizzeria near SatCo. While it certainly wasn't 100% NY, it was as close as I've found since moving away from NY over 10 years ago. I think they moved to Franklin or something, but I haven't been out to the suburbs to try them yet since moving back to Nashville. |
Pizza Hut is the worst!

I'll add my vote for Cici's. Tried the Cici's in Boulder when it first opened-once.
While I was attempting to eat dinner, the assistant manager was hassling a person at another table for only eating the toppings and not the crust, saying that they couldn't have any more slices unless they ate the crust because without eating the crust they could eat a disproportionate number of slices. (Not sure why they would have wanted to, but Boulder is an expensive college town to live in, cheap goes a long way for most students....) |
I'd definately avoid Shakeys.

Cici's is where you take your eight-year-old for their birthday and then you stop and get something decent to eat for yourself on your way home.

At least pitchers of beer are available at Chuck E. Cheese. After a few cold ones, the place is somewhat bearable, especially if the Star Wars arcade game is open.

In Southern California, you have to avoid Pizza joints. The only decent pizza will be found in good, up-scale restaurants (which happen
to serve pizza. In my neighborhood there are some truly vile pizza joints (Maria's, Frankie & Johnnie's). Good pizza can be found at Toscana, Divino, La Scala. Look for good pizza in good restaurants in So Cal. Da Pasquale in Beverly Hills is a great example of a restaurant with pizza on the menu. Pizza is excellent, but not the primary focus. It's my fav pizza of all time, and I'm in New York 3x a month. |

Probably stopped after that big argument I had with Chuck. :D
Anyways after committing larceny, we decided to go visit my friend at Chuck since we needed chasers and drunk munchies anyways, so myself among others started doing pretty terrible things to Chucky on the stage there. Luckily, it was like 4pm on a tuesday so it was largely devoid of little kids, but those poor robot things were never the same. that was life in a posh suburb of San Francisco.... |
The worst pizza
The worst pizza I have ever had is as follows:
Boston Pizza (except Norwood, MA) Anything that starts with "Papa". IE: Papa John's, Papa Severio's, Papa Murphy's. The word 'Papa' should be a warning sign to all pizza goer's that you are about to eat something bad. I lived in Boston 4 years and Chicago for the rest of my life. I can understand people not liking deep dish or stuffed (all that cheese is an acquired taste), but Chicago pizza, in all its forms, is the best pizza in the world. Particularly thin crust. I have tried pizza's in other states, and I haven't felt we have been beaten yet. The best chain that you can find in other states as well is Aurelio's. P.S. Did you ever notice that the company's that mail bomb you with coupons are the worst pizza's around? Good pizza doesn't come with discounts! :) |
[QUOTE=civicmon;7165287]my friend worked at a Chuck-e-Cheese and while they didn't serve beer, my friends were able to distract the liquor store owner long enough to stick a 1liter bottle of vodka down his pants and walk out.

[QUOTE] I used to work in a Radio Shack across from CEC. They were always scrounging for parts to keep the robots semi-functional. It was a sad pathetic operation, and rarely busy. I can't clearly recall the episode, but I do remember some cursing and a little pushing. The problem was, nothing on the stage was working and there was a guy in a costume that I tried to talk into performing. The beer was free in exchange for some wire and small electronic parts. |
