The gingerbread cake, lemon tarts, and Rose Geranium Parisian Macarons were all ^
Hopefully they'll be nearly as good as the fresh ones in-store. Happy sampling!

I love lemon tarts but how on earth could they ship them
Unless frozen and thats a pastry no no
BTW If you have one lemon tart to try in your lifetime try Mitchel London in New York City
He is the ex in house baker for the ex mayor of New York City
I have tasted them in Paris and all over the world and his are the last word with just a tiny circle of meringue around the outside
I freeze them and they are still better then all the rest I have tried
His defy all gravity

Nothing like that here in San Diego :(
If I thought it would survive security and the plane ride home I would take it onboard with me!

Virtually any quaint backerei in any quaint rural German town around Bavaria or Black Forest. Same same Austrian cousins.

Hey I'm on the same search!!

Not sure about Boston, but as soon as I saw this thread I though of the Old West Baking Company in Pismo Beach, CA. I've considered driving up there from L.A. (3+ hours) just to get some of their amazing cinnamon rolls.

Angicourt Bakery in Toronto... Near Victoria Park and Finch, in the area I went to say is Scarbarough... But is actually Toronto now.

The 3.99 veal sandwich is amazing and HUGE.

Haven't read the whole thread (and search isn't working the way I want, so I can't check) but here's my vote for Magnolia's in NYC (for the cupcakes, of course).

There is another bakery in Murray Hill that was really good, but I can't remember the name. We went there once and it was so good, and then 2 weeks later I saw it featured on a Best of NYC show on the Food Network!

This looks like a winner I am in.
I will place an order thanks to whoever was th efirst to bring it to our attention
What are the winners here?
I am ordering the lemon cake, graham crackers and lemon shortbread anything else a must?

Personally, the only thing I like from Miette are the macarons. Everything else looks "pretty" and great to eat, but rarely lives up to expectations.

Respect your position. My order is on hold till I get off the road
Who do you feel then really rates up there for quality with regard to these kind of products?I know that Frog Hollow Farms and Clementine really hits my taste and emotional buttons with select products

Wanda's Pie in the Sky in Toronto's Yorkville. Everything is good, I'm always craving for their pumpkin pie

There's a small place in Wilton, CT called Wave Hill Breads. They make one thing. Loaves of wonderful artisinal bread. It's sold in some of the local markets and distributed to some of the area restaurants. They've only been in business a few years. But their bread is some of the best bread I've eaten anywhere. During their hours you can often walk into their shop and buy bread fresh out of the oven.

The shop is in the back of a nondescript brown building next to a car dealer on Route 7 just in Wilton.

Bakery Normand - Northampton, MA - I'll go out of my way for the Almond/Pear tarts. Linzer cookies are very good. Wonderful cakes and many breads.

And I like the Bouchon Bakery outlets, especially Yountville.

I agree that Bouchon is good. I've been to the one in the Venetian.

I also like the La Brea bakery in Los Angeles
