Any Jerusalem Dining Recommendations?

What are the 1 or 2 dining experiences in Jerusalem that shouldn't be missed? (First time visit later this month.)

Ben Yehuda Street is a good spot for restaurants.

While I don't know about a not to miss, this place was VERY good, fresh and cheap: http://flyertalk.com/forum/showthrea...&highlight=Ben
Shemesh Grill is about a 5 minute walk from the Sheraton Jerusalem where we were staying.
Lots of grilled meats, shoarma, goose breast, chicken, falafel.
Everything was very fresh and reasonably priced IMO. So good we went twice.
Service is a lot of hustle, nice to see.

There is a restaurant called Ema/EEma, אמא
that is really good. The best hummus places are on Shammai street parallel to ben yehuda.

the best coffee is at AROMA ארומה
they are in several locations, I'm not sure where the are in jerusalem, but I think there is one near Zion Square ככר ציון

During my one visit to Jerusalem, in 1999, I was taken to a fabulous Moroccan restaurant called Darna. I have no clue where it is, and it is probably on the higher end price-wise (my host for the occasion was Goldman Sachs), but it was stupendous.

The best eatin' in Jerusalem is a couple hours away in Haifa.

Sorry. I couldn't resist. :) I've never eaten anywhere in J-Town that I remember thinking "shouldn't be missed". But as these things go, I think Sweet Willie's suggestion is about as good as any for a "real" Israeli food experience.

Actually there are a number of really superb hummus places in Abu Ghosh right near Jerusalem, though I don't know the names...

I stand corrected. You're absolutely right. Abu Ghosh has a fantastic reputation. (I was obviously being a little flip :) )

A while back there was a great restaurant on Nachalat Shiv'a called...I don't remember where they sun-dried their tomatoes and other veggies in the window. Wonderful, yet pricey, restaurant.

In Abu Ghosh there is a great Hummus Place "HaMisa'dah HaLevanonit" (the Lebanese Restaurant)

I am drooling just thinking about it.....

I've answered my own question. Just back from Jerusalem, and, based on reco's from locals, found Abu Chukri in the heart of the Old City. It's at the intersection of Al Wad and the Via Dolorosa -- across from the 8th Station of the Cross.
Absolutely terrific hummus, schwarma, etc. So authentic, they had to hunt up someone on-staff who spoke English. And, the _BEST_ pita bread I've ever had -- a little fluffy, and warm from the oven.
Wound up eating there 3 times over the course of a week. Don't miss it....
