Upscale dining in Orlando?
Anyone recommend an upscale/romantic place in Orlando - preferably someplace other than in a Disney resort, thanks
Chathams Place ... not very large, good food, friendly staff.

Does Christini's on Dr. Phillips still serve veal chops to die for?
Ruth's Chris at 7501 Sand Lake Road is a very nice place to dine.
We enjoyed Norman's at the Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes - try the key lime martini, too.
I second Normans the food is excellent
The Melting Pot on Sand Lake Road (Dr. Phillips) is very romantic. It's a fondue restaurant, but don't think "greasy" because you can opt to cook your food in broth. They have an excellent wine selection and a good set-up that tends to segregate couples from families (or at least as much as possible in Orlando).
How about Chop Tchop (Emeril's), Roy's, Morton's, Shula's, Wolfgang Puck's, the Brazilan Beef Place on Sand Lake cant remember the exact name.
If you like Northern Italian food and a beautiful lakeside setting, consider Enzo's.
Skip the chains, you can eat at those at home. Maison Jardan in Altamonte
Springs, Arthurs 27 near WDW, or Enzo's are all good. |
Thanks for all the suggestions guys, we have tickets for the Cirque du Soleil show at 9pm so will probably try either Artur 27 or Enzo's as both sound good and relatively close to WDW - thanks once again ^
One more to think about and close to DTD - Blue Zoo at the Dolphin Hotel.
Barneys
My husband I found this place on a few visits. We really enjoy it. THe atmoshpere is not as upscale as Ruth Chris but the food is just as good.

If you are in downtown Orlando -- try Manuel's on the 28th. Great food and service and a great view.....

The closest for Cirque would be Wolfgang Pucks, but make sure its the Dining Room you book and not Expresss or Cafe. OK for 7pm booking its only a 5 minute walk to Cirque. http://www.disneyclubs.com/downtown_...gang_pucks.htm If you have a car then I would go for Arthurs27, but you would have to book for 6.30pm to be sure to make the 9pm Cirque. You can walk, but its 20-25 Minutes from Cirque. My favorite place to dine at WDW is an outside table 8pm at the Rose and Crown- EPCOT the best view possible of IllumiNATIONS - The Lasers and Fireworks at 9pm. Book 6 weeks in advance though. Most people dont appreciate WDW Resort Area is twice the size of Manhattan and Metro Orlando bigger than the State of Rhode Island. |
