A good restaurant recommendation?

Is a restaurant recommendation good if the poster says, "eat at X it was great" and yet the poster doesn't list anything about the meal or what they had?

Depends how long ago the person had gone to the restaurant. I was just talking to a friend of my mom's that was going to Vienna and Prague for the first time. I remembered a lot of restaurants and that the meals were great, but for the life of me I couldn't remember exactly what I ate in 2003.

Well, except for the wurst stand next to the ring near the Hilton Stadtpark, there I knew exactly what I ate! :)

I don't see why not. Many people are not necessarily very good on giving exact reasons why a restaurant or their food is good. How many people can articulate why they think a dish is well plated, or that the flavors complimented each other, or that service was attentive without being hovering? Some people just aren't as verbose as others. ;)

"Complemented"? (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

My viewpoint is just the opposite. I want the particulars, if only to judge how that person thinks. Some viewpoints I would be inclined to respect and others I would be inclined politely to disregard. I want to know how a person reasons before I trust that person's judgment. And even then. . . .
