Item off menu
I have found that if you ask management and they have the ingredients then they will fill the order.

Know that delivery will be in about one hour. Everyone in our immediate little circle knows that chicken chili and cheese bread from Daily Grill is a Sunday night staple along with "The Sopranos' (when in season). Tonight I called for our usual, (we were watching US Tennis Open) and were told that (gasp :( ) Chicken chili was gone, finito, off the menu. Ordered a couple of chicken burgers, but am not happy. Has anyone ever lobbied to get a dish back on the menu? If so, any success? |

I am very much a creature of habit and tend to order the exact same dishes each time at the restaurants I frequent. One removed my favorite dish there - pumpkin ravioli with brown sugar sauce, crisped sage and sun-dried tomatoes - and when I saw it gone from the menu I did ask for it. They still had the ingredients to make it for me and did, and then about a month later it was back on the menu. I assume many other people also asked for it back. Yes, lobby for it. It can't hurt. The Italians who love to cook, of course, will prepare almost anything on request. :) |

I still get misty eyed over the loss of the London Broil at TGI Fridays. I just about begged (ok, I did beg) corporate to bring it back with no luck
The year we went to the Erie County fair and found out that Chef Felix and his pizza truck were no more was a sad sad day for all. IHAP |

The coca-cola cake at Cracker Barrel is excellent. It's a shame that it's only offered seasonally.

At New York Pizza & Pasta (11078 Santa Monica Blvd., W. LA, CA), they quit serving veal parmigiana heros. I had been buying them there for maybe 10 years. I assume it was the animal rights crazies that got to them.

If so, hope you try Clementine which is next door. Great food. www.clementineonline.com |
We used to go Big Bowl just for the crispy sesame chicken, but it has been discontinued. :(

I've found that most locally owned restaurants will prepare dishes that are no longer on the menu, upon request especially if they were popular.
Chain restaurants won't. Pretty much everything comes to them prepackaged. If they can't open the pouch, they can't serve the dish. Just another reason to support locally owned restaurants. |
