Copenhagen Restaurants
Any recommendations for restaurants in Copenhagen? I will be dining both with my parents and with clients (on separate occasions). Looking for places that are not necessarily cheap but not overly expensive either, definitely nothing requiring a tie or jacket. I guess the equivalent of restaurants in the US with entree prices in the high teens to high twenties. Thanks!

from Conde Nast Traveler Magazine :
The setting is unmatched in the City of Spires,....The Italian-Danish menu at Alberto K audaciously pairs northern and southern European traditions, with such offerings as prawn cappuccino soup and goat cheese sorbet...... The Pear Variations is hands down Copenhagen's best dessert. From Saveur magazine: At Restaurantionen, Bo Jacobsen and his wife Lisbet, lift patrons’ spirits with dishes inspired by French, Italian and Danish cuisine and based mostly on Danish ingredients. The single five-course menu, with a wine for each course, changes weekly. Bo employs an old Scandanavian method for tenderizing duck….by soaking it in a strong brine. Then he poaches it in vegetable stock and serves it with a cloud of horseradish whipped cream. FT’er SptCA stated: Further afield, had some good meals - small places off of Stoget a block or two. One was a Breton crepe place in an alley (can't remember the name, sorry) and the other was RizRaz - funky meat-on-a-stick and exotic salad bar. |
I enjoyed Café Victor on Ny Østergade 8...good meal and good service with reasonable prices given the cost of things in Copenhagen. Of course, lunch at Restaurant Ida Davidsen is a must. It's located at Store Kongensade 70. Dinner at Café Ketchup is another good option.
I've heard good things about The Paul and Langelinie Pavillionen, but did not have an opportunity to dine at either one. |
Check out some of the restaurant's in the Nyhavn area. one I remember eating at was Fargekro. There are many restaurant's off Stroget steet also, one I can remember is Peder Oxe, I think it was on Grabrodre torv. Another one I can't think of the name is just east of the Hard rock cafe. Enjoy Copenhagen Fargo

My recommendations are:
Søren K: good food, walking distance to Marriott and SAS Radisson hotels, great river view. A good place to celebrate signing of a contract: they have excellent wine list as well as cigars. Located in the Royal Library (also known as Black Diamond). Peder Oxe: this is the place if you want wild game food. Excellent service. Attractive waitresses. Blue Elephant: Thai restaurant located in the basement of SAS Radisson Hotel. This is one of the best Thai food restaurants in Europe (they have branches in London, Paris, Brussels, etc.). They even have their own Champagne label. Any local resident of Copenhagen can tell you the location of these restaurants. |
