Romantic Restaurant in London?
 

Hi guys,

Was wondering if anyone could recommend a nice romantic restaurant in London? Here is my dilemma I am looking for something that is not too expensive either less than 40 quids a person if possible...

I am also looking for some nice stuff to do while in London, something a little different from the major tourists attractions...

So if anyone could recommend anything, I would greatly appreciate it.

My suggestion would be to go out of the City and dine along the Thames in places like Richmond or Kingston. Just don't go on Friday or Saturday nights when those idyllic spots become lager lout central.

If you like Indian food, The Cinnamon Club has a unique atmosphere and good food plus service. Some find it a bit on the 'designer' side but I thought the food was quite delicious. The most romantic place I've ever eaten so far was at Blakes Hotel but thank goodness someone else picked up the tab. A friend of mine likes La Bouchee in South Kensington very much, but I haven't been there personally or know how romantic a spot it is. She knows her food, so I'm sure that's a good place.

Have you ever been to the Wallace Collection? A lot of tourists never hear about it, but it's a small and lovely old house with lots of paintings, sculpture and other items. I'm still trying to get to the John Soane Museum which is also full of the unusual.

You could probably squeek by for under £100 for 2 with a cheap bottle of wine at the Savoy restaurant(not the grill). 3 pce dance band on Fri & Sat. Unless format has changed, or restaurant is converted to a Steak house.

Request table 1 or 2 in advance(one seats 2, one seats 4), and they have changed the number more than once. Overlooks the Thames.
