Great Restaurant in Reno
 

I've had nice meals in Reno. I've had adequate meals in Reno. I, however, have never been to a restaurant there that I felt was first class until this week.

The 4th Street Bistro is an outstanding restaurant that, if plopped down in Chicago, New York or San Francisco, wouldn't miss a beat. Across the board the restaurant was outstanding. The menu was both interesting and exceedingly well executed. The wine list, while overly domestic for my tastes, was well written, had an adequate number of interesting European selections, and a great selection of small, highly sought after California, Oregon and Washington boutique producers. A well thought out selection of Scotch, Cognac, Calvados and so on completed the evening. Service was knowledgeable and professional.
