Albuquerque suggestions?
First time in ABQ - any suggestions for good local food? I love spicy food so any fiery ideas?! Happy to travel far and wide to eat well!
Thanks so much! |
I went to Cristobal's in the Sheraton Old Town last time I was in New Mexico and it was excellent.
Lots of great food in Santa Fe, if you have the time to go up there. And lovely to visit, as well. |
I can provide lots of suggestions...
Dos Hermanos (multiple locations) for wonderful, enormous, and authentic breakfast burritos. Frontier on Central for their fantastic cinnamon rolls. Sadie's on Fourth Street is where all the locals go. AmerAsia in Nob Hill for fantastic dim sum (better than in HKG, from what I hear). Tons of new, great restaurants in Nob Hill and in Downtown. PM me for other restaurants and activities! Have a great time in NM! |
Thanks! I've PM'd you. Any other suggestions anyone?

If you hit Santa Fe and want really spicy food, try something with green chile at the Horseman's Haven. If you want suggestions for a specific type of restaurant in ABQ or SF, PM me. |
I will third the Frontier. Is it still open 24 hours a day? Its also close to the airport.
Padillas is yummy -- close to UNM Law School. Los Cuates is also excellent. All these places are inexpensive and exceedingly yummy. lala |
From a dining web site:
Duran's Central Pharmacy 1815 Central NW Tel: 505-247-4141 Some say the best tortillas and green chile stew are served here. . . and the added benefit of being a pharmacy with antacids for beginners! Went there. It's a pharmacy. Good. Authentic. Cheap. |
I'll also second duran's.
duran duran. :D |
Chef Du Jour is one I have really enjoyed. Link below. Near Old Town.

I once ate a bowl of green chile with a few sopaillas at a local dive in Las Vegas, NM and I basically was up all night. It was soo good but soo hot.
IMHO, Las Vegas, New Mexico is much more fun that Las Vegas,NV. lala |
