lime sorbet drink

In the '70s, my mom would host Bunco parties, and would make a yummy drink with lime sherbert. Does anybody know what this was?

My mother would float a small scoop of lime sherbet in a glass of Hawaiian Punch or cranberry juice for holidays. No alcohol involved. Or complicated recipes. My experience observing bunco parties is that they are very loud as a result of high alcohol consumption.

Googling "lime sorbet drink" brings up several results for "Lime Sherbet Punch." Ingredients generally consist of lime sherbet, lemon lime soda or ginger ale, pineapple juice and lime juice.

I don't remember the fruit juices, but definitely remember it with 7-Up. Ours were always non-alcoholic. I also recall something similar at Christmas, but IIRC it was vanilla ice cream, ginger ale and perhaps raspberries or strawberries? Maybe a fruit juice rather than fresh fruit. Kind of like an old-fashioned drug store soda. I may be remembering wrong because it looks terrible when I read it now.

The one I know was lime sherbet in ginger ale, sort of ice cream soda style. Very tasty if you bought the tangy lime sherbet, not the low quality super sweet one.
