Where do marshmallows come from
 

BamaVol Jr #3 sent us a box of homemade treats that included s’mores. The note said he and his spouse made the marshmallows in their kitchen. Until that moment, I had never thought about where marshmallows came from.

I asked a few friends if they knew. The two funniest responses were 1 marshmallow bushes on Big Rock Candy Mountain and 2 dingleberries from the Sta-Puft man.

of course Wikipedia told me the truth.

When I worked for a trucking company, marshmallows and any candy with marshmallows had to be frozen to prevent the air escaping from the marshmallows. The southern route across New Mexico and Arizona didn’t require freezing. Masterfoods aka Mars Candy would specify the route when booking the load to northern California and the Pacific Northwest.
