I love DQ blizzards. The mystery is why the monthly special includes the words Puppy Chow. Who thought of this and I don’t want to ponder dog food while eating a blizzard.

if you mean the buns used with Peking duck…
my son got them frozen as part of his bar mitzvah gift. He likes the buns on their own and I can steam them as part of a meal for him.

You can get porn buns? What do they look like? Or worse yet, what do they taste like?

my son loves them. At restaurants he just wants the bun on its own and he might eat some duck by itself. It’s more logical to eat the duck on its own - how anyone eats Wagyu sushi or caviar on blini is beyond me. Anyway his FUMIL gave it to him as a bar mitzvah gift and it was a top gift.

I assume she bought it mail order. He got 3 packs and finished 1 by now.
Freeze & steam…

I don't think you read the name I called them.

As for those buns, those are bao buns (as in char siu bao). Those can you make yourself (if you have the mind to).

aww alas I only know these as Peking duck buns so I assumed that’s what you meant. I don’t think of these as buns for making pork buns because those buns are FILLED with the bbq pork. These buns for Peking duck are used “sandwich” style imho. And after all the baking I did in 2020, I no longer desire to bake bread products. Now I’m just buying bread. Perhaps I’ll one day again try it.

In the Midwest when I see "puppy chow", I think of the peanut butter, chocolate, and powdered sugar coated Chex cereal. A regional "delicacy" as I had never heard of it where I grew up on the east coast.

Topic check!

Let's return to the original topic of "food mysteries" (not where to buy food, etc.). Thanks!

A relevant quote is at least four hundred years old and attributed to many different authors:

I would agree it's a mystery, not only why it includes the words, but what is it? With no description of "puppy chow", I'm picturing my dog's little beef kibble bits. I understand it might be a name for chocolate and peanut butter candy, but then the addition of those items AFTER the puppy chow makes me assume it's actually the beef kibble! Mmmmmm...kibble.
