We were near there when we transported Berner pups for a rescue. Their Sunday brunch is good.

My assistant who's Mexican-American and I have gotten into the habit of having a few Coronitas (the 7 ounce Coronas) every day at 5:30 after all the clients are gone. Believe it or not the beer tastes better in the little bottle and when they're cold they really hit the spot.

Recently got introduced to Modelo Negro. Excellent taste as well as a aesthetically pleasing bottle design!

Definitely team Negra Modelo. Also, although it's been 10+ years since I had one, I recall Leon makes a decent dark beer.

La Lupalosa by Insurgentes up in Baja California is my favorite. https://untappd.com/b/cerveceria-ins...lupulosa/53289

Then again, I'm a craft beer snob. When I was living in MEX and a place only had Coronas, Dos Equis, Pacifico, etc., I would just switch to a red wine.

Dos Equis Amber and Negra Modelo are in fact Vienna Style lagers (as is Samuel Adams Boston Lager, for that matter). See, e.g., https://growlermag.com/style-profile-vienna-lager/

Bohemia for me, if we're drinking Mexican beer. It has good body but still goes down smooth and easy. I like the fact it comes in a dark brown bottle; sunlight is bad for beer, and most Mexican beers get put in green or clear glass bottles, which gives a lot of them that skunky taste like you get with Heineken. Blech!

Modelo Negra is good for the same reason, although Bohemia is still the only Mexican I can drink without adding any lime or salt, etc.

Being from Mexico I need to say Negra Modelo and Dos Equis Amber are my favorite. Those are the better mexican beer available. Model has lately introduced Modelo Amber which is also very good. Should try it whenever possible!

I quite enjoyed a pithaya (dragon fruit) beer in Coatepec. It had a very subtle touch of the pithaya, which was key.

i think the producer is Cerveceria Brújula.

If I am in my local Mexican restaurant eating some great Mexican food: Negro Modelo

If I am in Tulum and I am relaxing by the pool or beach because its 95 degrees: Sol Beer. It hits different on a hot day in Mexico.
