Use to dive for abs and lobster off of San Diego. Always had a lot of friends when I would come home with them. Abalone was a lot of work but the steaks we would pound and then bread YUM!!

That's the way we used to prepare it at a seafood restaurant I worked at in LaJolla in the 80's. We promoted it as veal of the sea.
