This weekend I'll make some biscotti as they will last until Christmas.

I'll make some pretzel rolls and granary rolls and freeze them. I'll slightly under bake them and will defrost and reheat before we need them.

Christmas eve will be the busiest. As well as making soup and other bits for the lunch, I'll make a clementine cake and some rose apple tarts. I love the rose apple tarts - they are easy and look incredibly impressive.

That's cooking, not baking! :-)

I'd love to see this recipe.

I followed this with a few amendments. I add a little sugar before I fold the pastry and I glaze them with warm apricot jam. They're a little fiddly the first time but not hard.

This is what mine look like before I glaze them (sorry don't know why it's so big).

Christmas baking

I started with shortbreads and I'm now on sugar cookies. I still plan some molasses cookies and a couple of pies (mincemeat and lemon probably). If I'm up for it I'll make a batch of cinnamon rolls. Fortunately for my health most of the cookies will be sent out as gifts!

I love baking!

I made a colossal amount of bourbon balls and rum balls over Thanksgiving, and after aging for the past couple of weeks, they've now been brought out at various parties and shipped off as gifts.

This weekend, I'm putting together a whole load of squash and blue cheese Wellingtons for our upcoming at-homes and potlucks.

Mrs BamaVol has been baking cookies for weeks. Most have been boxed and shipped to the kids. Some are in the freezer and I have been warned not to touch - they will be plated and delivered to neighbors. I have been promised a batch of my favorites. They have a walnut on top and a mint chocolate candy in the center. Mmmmm.
