Breville BOV800XL Smart Oven

I was looking online for a new toaster oven, something that I could heat up a few slices of pizza and not have to fire up the big convection oven to do it.

I of course went overboard after seeing some items that piqued my interest, and decided to give this unit a try. If it doesn't workout, then back it goes.

Anyone have experience with this unit, or have something they like better?

Yep. We've had it for 12+months. Does everything perfectly. Bought a refurb for $160.

We have one of these too - we love it. We almost never use our main oven for just two of us.

We use two very similar ovens in our kitchen (branded ...sadly ... Gordon Ramsey ....) and rarely use our main oven. They are used daily, However, as you specifically mention pizza may I suggest a different idea for you to think about.

I'd take a look at the Whirlpool combination ovens eg Whirlpool JT369_MIR Jet Chef Microwave that also have a crisper. This is absolutely brilliant at pizza in the way that this oven never will be. Basically it has a special mode which is a combination of microwave and grill oven and you preheat a specially formulated round dish and then put the pizza in. You end up with a crisp base to the pizza as though it had been cooked in a commercial pizza oven. Not really useful as a toaster though. But the combination ovens are a lot more flexible for all sorts of things and in particular this one with a crisper adds a whole new dimension to it's usefulness.

Just got it for Christmas to replace an older kitchen aid architect that I used. I was a little taken back by the size (you can really only fit one rack in it at a time, whereas my kitchen aid can hold 2). May be a bit tight for a chicken or mid size roast, but good for every day small stuff. The heating elements are supposedly much better.

Great oven had one for several years.

The really good thing is you can turn the tempature down low for ribs and slow cook any meat, including duck.

This oven will shut off, and no over cook your food, and great for Pizza also,

We have a speed oven, and a convection oven, this is our main oven just 2 of us.,,
