Best upscale chain steakhouse?

There was a thread about this in 2007, but I thought a reboot was in order since things have changed.
What is the best steakhouse chain in the U.S? I'm partial to Fleming's but have had good experience at Smith and Wollensky's
Also, what's important in restaurants like these? Steak quality? Great Service? Good wine list?

I guess I just don't get the upscale steakhouse thing even after eating at several of them. The best restaurant steak I've had in the USA was at Shaw's steakhouse, and I've had much better tasting beef at various churrascarias in Brazil. Also normally better home cooked over charcoal.

Never EVER will any steakhouse be my first choice when eating out, and I love steak. It's too easy to outdo them at home.

Both times I've been to Smith & Wollensky's, I've been disappointed. The steak was overcooked and definitely not worth the price.

I like Ruth's Chris. They also have a nice lunch special.

Bonanza? :)

I'd probably go with Del Friscos, although I did have a very mediocre experience at their Philly location last year. The Dallas, Vegas and NYC locations have been right on the money. (plenty of money :p)

Del Friscos, for sure. I've always been impressed with Joe's in Vegas (Also have DC and Chicago locations)

I guess I'm in the Morton's camp. But, I do agree. I prefer my steaks at home. My preference when I go out is for food that I don't or won't make at home.

I made my first prime rib roast at home for Christmas (I have no idea what took me this long). I will never have prime rib in a restaurant again. Mine was much better!

I agree all around, though when in NYC, I much prefer Keens Steakhouse. I can't complain about Del Frisco's. I have also had pretty good meals at various Fleming's.

+1 on Del Frisco's. I love how they cook their steak not to mention the amazing sides. The one in Houston has never failed me. Pappas is a close second but I'm not sure if they're located nationwide.

Mastro's is my favorite. I'm also partial to Morton's and Del Frisco's but am not impressed by either Ruth Chris or Smith and Wollensky as others have said.

I know it's only local to Chicago but as they have TWO locations I'll stump for Gibson's :-P

Here to vote for the cajun ribeye at Morton's.
